The Embassy of Ukraine in Gabon ran from October 2007 to June 2012.
In April 2011, the first official visit to Ukraine of the head of Gabon's Foreign Policy Office, Paul Tungi, took place.
On November 29, 2014, at the XV IOF Summit in Dakar, the Foreign Ministers of Ukraine, H.E. Mr. P.Klimkin, and of Gabon, H.E. Mr. E. Issoze-Ngondet, had a meeting.
There are no high-level bilateral bodies.
The Gabonese delegation abstained in the vote on the resolution "Territorial Integrity of Ukraine" in March 2014.
The Gabonese Party has given its written agreement to support the candidacy of Ukraine for non-permanent members of the United Nations Security Council for the period 2016-2017.
The Gabonese delegation abstained on the adoption of the resolution "Situation on human rights in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol (Ukraine)" in December 2017 and December 2018, but did not participate in the adoption of the resolution "The problem of the militarization of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol (Ukraine), as well as in the regions of the Black Sea and Azov" in December 2018.
