The contractual and legal framework of relations between Ukraine and the Republic of Senegal

The following documents have been signed between Ukraine and the Republic of Senegal:

1. Joint Communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations of November 25, 1992;

2. Protocol between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Senegal on political consultations of June 15, 2011;

3. Memorandum of Understanding between the State Financial Monitoring Service of Ukraine and the National Bureau for the Processing of Financial Information of the Republic of Senegal on cooperation in the field of exchange of financial information on criminal activity related to the legalization (laundering) of proceeds from crime and terrorism financing dated by October 24, 2012

On March 24, 2016 the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Senegal on military and technical cooperation was signed by the diplomatic channels (the Embassy was officially notified on February 28, 2017). The document has passed in Ukraine the internal procedures necessary for entry into force. There was no information on the completion of the procedures necessary for the entry into force from the Senegalese Party.

On June 17, 2013 in Dakar 3 agreements have been signed that have not yet entered into force:

1. Convention between Ukraine and the Republic of Senegal on Mutual Assistance in Civil and Criminal Matters.

2. Convention between Ukraine and the Republic of Senegal on the transfer of convicted persons.

3. Convention between Ukraine and the Republic of Senegal concerning extradition.

Ukraine ratified the aforementioned treaties on 02.09.2015 and immediately notified the Senegalese Party.

The documents under consideration of the Senegalese Party:
1. Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Senegal on the waiving of visas for citizens using diplomatic or service passports;
2. Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Senegal on the Promotion and Mutual Protection of Investments;
3. Agreement of commercial and economic cooperation between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Senegal;
4. Agreement on cooperation between the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine and the Ministry of Justice of Senegal;
5. Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Senegal on mutual protection of restricted information.
6. Agreement on cooperation in the field of tourism between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Senegal.
