A large number of military specialists were trained in the specialized universities of Ukraine for the needs of The Gambia's armed forces.
According to the Ukrainian State Center for International Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, in 2019-2020 academic year 55 Gambian citizens studied in Ukrainian higher education institutions.
