Ukraine has been training specialists for Guinea since the early 60's. The fall in living standards in this country, as well as the increase in the cost of studying at higher educational institutions in Ukraine, led to a general decline in the number of Guinean youth who is heading to study in Ukraine.

According to the Ukrainian State Center for International Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, in 2019-2020 academic year, 120 Guinean students studied in Ukrainian universities.
