February 23, 2013 - a visit of the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to Senegal.
November 29, 2014 - a meeting of Foreign Ministers within the framework of the 15th Summit of the International Organization of the Francophonie, Dakar, Republic of Senegal.
November 7, 2016 - a meeting of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin met his Senegalese counterpart Mr. Mankeur Ndiaye in the framework of the 71th session of the UN General Assembly.
October 30, 2019 - a meeting of the State Secretary of the MFA of Ukraine Andriy Zayats with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Senegal Amadou Bâ within the framework of the 36th Francophone Ministerial Conference (Monaco).
November 26, 2020 - the second round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and Senegal at the level of directors of territorial departments.
August 10, 2021 - a phone conversation between the Ministers of Foreign Affairs.
November 5, 2021 - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Senegal Mr. Yurii Pyvovarov presented his credentials to the President of Senegal Mr. Macky Sall.
December 9, 2021 - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Senegal to Ukraine (with the residince in Warsaw) Mr. Pape Diop presented his credentials to the President of Ukraine Mr. Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The Senegalese delegation abstained during the vote on the resolution "Territorial Integrity of Ukraine" in March 2014, despite the promise of support. At the same time, in 2015, Senegal supported Ukraine's candidacy in the elections to the non-permanent members of the UN Security Council for the period 2016-2017, on a reciprocal basis.
The Senegalese delegation abstained from adopting the resolutions “Situation of human rights in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol (Ukraine)” in December 2018, in December 2019 (did not participate in December 2016, in December 2017 and in December 2020) and in December 2021, as well as "The problem of militarization of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol (Ukraine), as well as the Black and Azov Seas" in December 2018, in December 2019 (did not participate in December 2020) and in December 2021.
In 2019, during the 41st session of the UN Human Rights Council, as well as in 2021 during the 47th session of the UN Human Rights Council, the Senegal delegation abstained from the adoption of the resolution "Cooperation with and assistance to Ukraine in the field of human rights".
In 2018 during the 204th (April) and 205th (October), in 2019 during the 207th (October) and in 2021 during the 210th (February) sessions of the Executive Board of UNESCO Senegal refrained from adopting the decision "Follow-up the situation in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea (Ukraine)".
On October 16, 2017, Ukrane and Senegal made a mutual support for the membership in the UN Human Right Counsil for the period of 2018-2020.
In 2017, Senegal officially supported Ukraine's application for observer status in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
In 2020, Senegal officially supported Ukraine's application for membership in the UN HRC for the period 2021-2023.
Since 2021 the Honorary Consulate of Senegal in Ternopil has been functioning. The Honorary Consul is Mrs. Iryna Ivaschtschuk.
