24th of July, 2023, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine, H.E.Mr. Yurii Pyvovarov presented his letters of credence to the President of the Republic of Liberia, H.E.Mr. George Weah.

During the audience Ukrainian Ambassador expressed his gratitude to the President Weah and to the people of Liberia for the unwavering stance with Ukraine from the very first days of the russian war. 

Ambassador Pyvovarov underlined - “We are grateful and will always be for what you have done. You are a true partner to the people of Ukraine.” 

Yurii Pyvovarov have also marked the areas of bilateral cooperation, which is proven to be promising both for Ukrainian and Liberian peoples. 

President George Weah, for his part, reaffirmed Liberia’s support to the President and people of Ukraine as he looks forward to cementing the already prosperous diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Liberia. “We stand stoutly with you as the rest of the free world, as you continue to stand in defense of democracy and your sovereignty,” said the Liberian Leader. 

Dr. Weah also expressed Liberia’s willingness and openness to participate in all worthwhile initiatives that are aimed at restoring peace to Ukraine, including but not limited to acceding to the Ukraine Peace Formula and full participation in the Global Peace Summit and the Third Summit of the International Crimea Platform.
