Today is the Day of the National Emblem of Ukraine. 

On 19 February 1992, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved the National Emblem of Independent Ukraine. It is a golden trident on a blue shield, the national symbol of Ukrainians during the liberation struggle of the 20th century, which has the status of a small coat of arms and is the main element of the future large coat of arms.

Today, the trident unites Ukrainian patriots who defend Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. For Ukrainians around the world, the trident symbolizes their connection to their homeland.
