During the meeting, the text of the call of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people “On recognition of the genocide of the Crimean Tatar people” to the parliaments and governments of the United nations was brought, as well as the issue of recognizing the deportation of the Crimean Tatars in 1944 as genocide of the Crimean Tatar people; the commemoration on May 18, 2019 in Ukraine of the 75^th anniversary of the deportation of the Crimean Tatar people was announced.

The head of the Commission was also informed on the decision of the Russian leadership of delivering Russian passports to the citizens of Ukraine in the temporarily occupied territories of the Donbas, as well as on the extension by the Russian side the list of categories of citizens of Ukraine, eligible to be granted a Russian citizenship under a fast-track procedure. The “Address of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to the United Nations, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the Council of Europe and their parliamentary assemblies, the European Parliament, the Inter-Parliamentary Union, parliaments and governments of the member states of the European Union, the United States of America, Canada, the North Atlantic Alliance, diplomatic missions of foreign states in Ukraine on the criminal decision of the Russian Federation's leadership on issuing Russian passports to citizens of Ukraine in the territories of Donbas temporarily occupied by Russia” was brought to the Senegalese party with the call for a public reaction to the illegal actions of the Russian Federation.

In addition, the issues of the current state of the contractual and legal framework between Ukraine and Senegal were discussed, in particular regarding the ratification by the Senegalese party of legal agreements: on legal assistance in civil and criminal cases, on extradition of offenders, on the transfer of convicted persons.
